A love story for young readers by Horacio Elena. Uplifting and positive, it teaches children to persevere and never lose hope.

Pepo the caterpillar is madly in love with Estela, a beautiful butterfly with multicoloured wings. He dreams of being able to fly like her, and his friends keep coming up with plans and solutions to help him achieve this, until one day something amazing happens that means the sweethearts can finally fly together.

With wonderful illustrations. The images are subtle, clear, bright, cheerful and colourful, with delightful details, at times similar to vignettes and caricatures.Like the text, they are filled with poetry, tenderness and a touch of humour that makes the reader smile, despite all the mishaps poor Pepo suffers.Horacio Elena was born in La Plata, Argentina, in 1940. There he studied Architecture and Cinematography and formed part of Grupo Sí, one of the most interesting creative groups of the time.An exhibition and a scholarship at the Prado Museum brought him to Spain in 1969. During his early years in Spain, where he currently lives, he travelled round the country designing and producing stage sets for a children's theatre company. He has worked for more than 30 publishing houses and has illustrated more than 200 children's books, many by big names such as Camilo José Cela, Roal Dahl and Nicolás Guillén.
